Ingredients

  • 3 ripe peaches sliced
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh peach slices for garnish
  • Fresh mint for garnish

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine sliced peaches with one cup of granulated sugar and one cup of hot water. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until peaches are very soft.
  • Remove from heat and let the peach mixture cool slightly.
  • Transfer the peach mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher to remove pulp.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and three cups of cold water. Stir to mix.
  • Pour in the strained peach syrup and mix well until fully combined.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding extra sugar or lemon juice to suit your preference.
  • Refrigerate for at least one hour to chill thoroughly.
  • To serve, fill glasses with ice, pour in the peach lemonade, and garnish with peach slices and mint.
