Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 1 cup white mushrooms diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 6 hamburger buns toasted

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté diced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms for about 5 minutes until softened.
  • Add garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Push the vegetables to the side of the pan and add the ground beef. Cook the beef until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Drain any excess grease from the skillet if needed.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and black pepper. Mix to combine everything well.
  • Lower the heat and add both provolone and American cheese. Stir until the cheese melts completely and forms a creamy mixture with the meat and vegetables.
  • Remove from heat. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture onto toasted hamburger buns.
  • Serve immediately while hot. Enjoy with fries or a side salad.
