Hoisin Beef Noodles

Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 8 ounces lo mein or spaghetti noodles
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 4 green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Stir until smooth and set aside.
  • Season the sliced beef with a pinch of salt and pepper. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  • Add the sliced beef to the hot skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the bell pepper and carrots and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
  • Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the hoisin sauce mixture. Stir to coat everything evenly and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Add the cooked noodles and toss everything together until well combined and heated through. Sprinkle with chopped green onions.
  • Serve hot and enjoy.
