Classic Homemade Lemonade

This classic homemade lemonade is the ultimate refreshing summer drink, made with freshly squeezed lemons, just the right amount of sugar, and plenty of icy water. Perfect for parties, cookouts, or simply cooling off on a hot day.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Roll the lemons on your countertop to loosen the juice, then cut them in half and juice them until you have 1 cup of lemon juice. Strain out any seeds.
  • In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice and sugar. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved. This may take one to two minutes.
  • Add 5 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice if desired.
  • Add plenty of ice cubes and stir again to chill fully.
  • Garnish with lemon slices and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
