- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, milk, and melted butter.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Avoid overmixing.
Gently fold in the diced apples.
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop 2 to 3 tablespoon-sized mounds of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 16 to 18 minutes or until the fritters are golden brown and lightly firm to the touch.
While the fritters are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
Remove fritters from the oven and allow them to cool on a wire rack for 5 to 10 minutes.
Drizzle the glaze over the slightly warm fritters and let it set for a few minutes before serving.
