- 6 cups peeled and sliced Granny Smith apples
 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 - 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 - For the topping:
 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 tablespoon baking powder
 - 1 teaspoon salt
 - 1 cup whole milk
 - 10 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9 by 13 inch baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, flour, and vanilla extract. Stir well to coat the apples evenly.
Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt for the topping. Pour in the milk and stir until just combined.
Pour the melted butter into the batter and stir gently until a smooth mixture forms. Do not overmix.
Spoon the batter evenly over the apples. It will not cover every spot but will spread as it bakes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.
Let the cobbler cool for about 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
Serve warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
